It was good day for Malaysia on Day Two of the Incheon Asian Para Games here on Sunday with Siti Noor Radiah Ismail delivering the first gold and Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli clinching another.

Siti Noor Radiah when met by Bernama before the medal presentation ceremony at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium here said she was proud to have the honour of winning Malaysia's first gold medal at this edition of the Games.

She won it in the Women's T20 long jump while Muhammad Ziyad achieved the feat in the Men's T20 shot put.

Besides the two gold, Malaysia also harvested three silver and five bronze on Sunday, in athletics, cycling and swimming.

The silver were won by Krishna Kumar Hari Das (Men's T38 400m), Siti Nooriasah Mohamad Ariffin (Women's T20 long jum) and Aiman Asyraff Ahmad Bajuri (Mixed Individual B 1km Time Trial).

The bronze winners were swimmer Jemery Siga (Men's 200m Freestyle S5); Hemala Devi Eni Kutty (Women's Discus Throw F11/12); Umi Syuhadah Idris (Women's Discus - F36/37/38); Aiman Asyraff (Men's Individual B Pursuit) and Mohd Najib Turano (Men's Individual C4-5 Pursuit).

Malaysia's chef-de-mission Datuk Ab Jalil Abdullah said with these result, he believed Malaysia could better the nine gold haul at the last edition of the games in Guangzhou, four years ago.
