Malaysian Council of Former Elected Representative (Mubarak) president Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Rahman said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had automatically lost his position when he announced that he is leaving UMNO.

Abdul Aziz said the body is also disappointed with the former premier’s action when he signed the Citizens’ Declaration together with some Opposition leaders.

“We in Mubarak are former Barisan Nasional representatives. Our objective is to support BN,” he said at a press conference today.

“So, when Dr Mahathir announced he is leaving UMNO and working with the Opposition, we have decided to wave him goodbye,” he said.

Dr Mahathir became the patron of Mubarak since it was set up in 2005.
