The National squad Harimau Malaya suffered their second consecutive defeat under coach Dollah Salleh when Indonesia scored a 2-0 victory at the Gelora Delta Sidoarjo Stadium in Surabaya, Indonesia on Sunday.

The toothless tigers had lost 1-4 to Tajikistan at the Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on Aug 8.

In the match on Sunday, Indonesia, backed by a hostile crowd kept the pressure right from the start but though the Indonesians kept pounding the Malaysian defence, the first half ended scoreless.

It took the Indonesians an own goal by defender Mohd Muslim Ahmad to break the deadlock in the 64th minute but once they were in the driving seat, the home team led by Arema Cronus striker Samsul Arif Munif sealed the victory in the 88th minute.

Malaysia will next play Cambodia on Sept 20 at the Shah Alam Stadium before facing Jordan at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Oct 11.

The international friendly matches are aimed at preparing the team for the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup jointly hosted by Singapore and Vietnam from Nov 22 to Dec 20.

In the AFF Cup competition Malaysia are drawn in the Group B, regarded as the group of death, comprising defending champion Singapore and three-time winners Thailand.

The other team in the group will be determined after the AFF Suzuki Cup Qualifiers in Laos from Oct 12 to 20, involving Myanmar, Brunei, Timor Leste and Cambodia.

Two teams will make it to the main draw of the qualifier.
