A 14-month-old toddler was found safe after she was abducted together with the family car last night.

The incident happened around 10.30pm in front of a shopping mall in SS16 in Subang Jaya.

Apparently the incident happened when the toddler's father parked the car to pick up his wife, who had just finished her work shift at the mall.

The man stepped out of the car to call his wife before a man jumped into the white Perodua Myvi car and drove it away, with the toddler still in the car.

The toddler's parents immediately lodged a police report.

The toddler's uncle, who only wished to be known as Niezam, said he was informed that the suspect was in his 20s.

He said he immediately uploaded his niece's photo and details of the vehicle on social networking sites in hope to create public awareness and help save the toddler.

"My niece was found at a petrol station in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, less than two hours after the car was stolen," he told Astro AWANI today when contacted.

According to Niezam, who is the elder brother of the toddler's mother, the suspect left his niece at the petrol station before the employee on duty heard the sound of a baby crying.

The worker instantly contacted police action and informed the matter.

It is understood that the toddler was first placed in the custody of Bukit Jelutong police before she was returned to her family.

Niezam said the incident spooked his sister, who is currently three months pregnant, but the entire family is well.

"I want to thank everyone who helped, and netizens who shared the info through social sites," he said.

Niezam added that he hoped the public would not make accusations or assumptions regarding the incident because bad things could happen to anyone.

The white Myvi bearing the registration number WVD 1739 is still reported missing.
