Three pairs of twins were among the 1,242 candidates who obtained 5A's in the Primary School Assessment Test (UPSR) examination, today.

These students from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ayer Keroh, SK Masjid Baru, Jasin and SK Sacret Heart and Bandar Hilir also received an award from the state government for their achievement.

This year, a total of 13,714 candidates sat for the UPSR in 238 examination centers nationwide.

Siti Farhana Othman, sister to twin, Siti Farhani a student of SK Ayer Keroh attributed her success to a daily study routine compiled by their parents.

Mira Irsalina Salleh Hudin of SK Masjid Baru meanwhile said that the success was a gift for her family, teachers and friends who had helped and provided the support needed when she lost her father four years ago.

Another candidate who obtained 5A's in UPSR, Nurul Aishah Faizal hoped candidates who did not receive the results which they aimed for would strive better in the future.

SK Sungai Jernih and SK Brisu, Masjid Tanah were the two schools in Melaka which achieved 100 per cent results.
