Three MH17 Malaysian victims’ remains will be arriving home on Friday at the KL International Airport at 8.30am.

This marks the fifth arrival of remains, which have been repatriated back to Malaysia. As per the previous arrivals, the Malaysian citizens will be accorded full military honours, the Transport Ministry said in a statement today.

The flight from the Netherlands will carry the remains of Muhammad Afzal Tambi, 17, and Marsha Azmeena Tambi, 15, children of Tambi Jiee, who also perished in the same tragedy, and Shaikh Mohd Noor Mahmood, 44, a crew member on board.

The forensics experts in Netherlands have also identified the remains of Liew Yau Chee, Tan Siew Poh, Meling anak Mula, Metthew Ezekial Sivagnanam and Lee Kiah Yeen. The release of the remains, however, has yet to be announced by the Dutch authorities.

To date, a total of 224 MH17 passengers have been identified, with 74 victims still in the process of identification. Out of the 44 Malaysians onboard MH17, the remains of 41 citizens comprising 26 passengers and 15 crew members have been identified.
