Today, the Governor of Bank Negara (BNM), Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz bade farewell to the Central Bank.

Indeed, her clear thinking, leadership and wise counsel helped to steer the country through some most difficult times and she has also guided the reform of the Central Bank following the financial crisis.

Social media users too lauded her endless contribution. Today, BNM official Facebook page was inundated with well-wishes for the 68-year-old financial icon, who had achieved several significant milestones.

Zeti started her service as the central bank Governor on May 1, 2000. She will be succeeded by her deputy, Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim on Monday 2.
