The political situation in Terengganu is currently at its best as all problems have been solved in a family atmosphere, says Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman.

The Terengganu UMNO Liaison Committee (PBUNT) chief said the focus was now on preparing for the 14th General Election (GE14) as all issues had been resolved.

He said on the part of the liaison committee, "we have resolved all issues and want to move forward..we are fully confident of retaining power and increasing our seats," he added.

Ahmad Razif said this to reporters when asked to comment on a statement by former menteri besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said at the opening of the Kemaman UMNO Division delegates meeting yesterday, whereby the latter wanted all quarters to forget past hostilities and prioritise the party to win the coming general election.

On the list of potential candidates for GE14, Ahmad Razif said it would be finalised by party president, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, and BPUNT would accept anyone picked by the prime minister.

"We are not concerned as to who will be candidates, we are the party machinery, working in the interest of the party. We will work to ensure anyone who is picked as candidate wins."

Earlier, the menteri besar handed over prizes in conjunction with the Cikgu Razif's Seberang Takir Sports Week with the community in Seberang Takir here.
