The Meteorological Department warned on Monday that the strong winds and rough seas in the waters off Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Sarawak, Labuan and Sabah are expected to persist until Tuesday.

It said in a statement that the winds of between 40 and 50 km per hour and waves as high as 3.5 metres were dangerous for small boats and sea sports and recreational activities.

It also said that visibility was low, of less than five kilometres, in the waters off Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and western Johor and in the Melaka Strait due to the haze.

This condition was expected to persist until Tuesday and was dangerous for ships without navigational guidance, it added.
