Several stretches of road in Segamat and Kota Tinggi have been closed to light traffic, according to the Johor Public Works Department.

It reported on its website that as of 11.30am, Jalan Tungku 3; Jalan Jabi to Bukit Tempurung and Jalan Felda Kemelah in the Segamat district were closed to light traffic.

It also said that in the Kota Tinggi district, Jalan Seksyen 53 and Jalan Kota Tinggi - Mersing were only passable to heavy vehicles.

The Drainage and Irrigation Department reported that the level of Sungai Bekok in Yong Peng, Batu Pahat, had breached the danger point of 2.97 metres at noon.

The levels of two rivers in Segamat were at the warning and alert points, namely Sungai Lenik in Ladang Chaah (5.78 metres) and Sungai Muar in Kampung Awat (19.45 metres), it said.

The level of the reservoir at the Machap Dam in Kluang was at the danger level of 17.17 metres, it added.
