Residents in Kampung Laloh in Kuala Krai, Kelantan were forced to break down the door of a convenience store after they failed to receive any aid in three days.

Faizal Abd Rahim said, as of 4pm today (Thursday), they have yet to receive any food aid, including the 2,500 flood victims from 500 families who are currently being placed at SK Laloh.

“No one has come to hand out any aid to us. We can hear the helicopters in the air, but we don’t know what their purpose is for,” he said.

He added, they obtained permission from the convenience store owner to break down the door.

“Flood waters have reached the second flood of the relief centre we have been evacuated to at SMK Laloh. We were then evacuated to SK Laloh,” Faizal said.

Kampung Laloh had been completely cut off after all roads leading to the area had been inundated with flood waters three days ago.

Water and electricity supply to the area had also been cut off.

Faizal, who related the plight of the residents in Kampung Laloh through SMS, was worried the authorities had airdropped food supplies at the wrong location, since there is only one location which is suitable for the purpose.

“The only location which is suitable to send aid is the cemetery which has not been inundated by water,” Faizal said.
