The number of flood victims in eight districts in Kelantan continues to drop to 16,081 tonight from 16,125 this evening.

According to the state government flood portal, all the victims from 5,375 families were placed at 60 relief centres statewide.

Gua Musang and Jeli became the latest areas affected by the floods due to heavy rains.

In Gua Musang, 179 victims were evacuated to six relief centres, while in Jeli, 160 victims were placed at one centre.

The number of victims in Pasir Mas remained at 10,575 people in 32 relief centres.

In Tumpat, the number of flood evacuees at seven relief centres also dropped to 3,956 people tonight compared to 4,347 people this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the number of victims evacuated in Kuala Krai rose to 495 people from the previous 443 placed at seven centres, Pasir Puteh (556 people/four centres), Tanah Merah (141 people/two centres) and Machang (19 people/one centre).

Other than the water level in Sungai Golok at Rantau Panjang, which remained above the danger level, the water level at three major rivers in the state, which had dropped earlier, rose back to exceed the danger level.

The three rivers were Sungai Galas in Dabong, Gua Musang, Sungai Lebir in Tualang, Kuala Krai, Sungai Kelantan at Tangga Krai, Kuala Krai and Sungai Kelantan at the Guillemard Bridge, Tanah Merah.

The water level in Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang currently stood at 10.42m, exceeding the danger level of 9.0m.

Death toll due to floods in the state remained at four.
