A 42-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly raped his mother-in-law last Friday, reports the BorneoPost Online.
The suspect is an unemployed father of eight children aged from one to 20 years-old.
He is said to have gone to the house of the 69-year-old victim which was located next to his house in Kampung Jeriah here.
The incident took place at about 4pm when the alleged victim was sitting in the living room while wearing only a sarong, a police source said.
The suspect allegedly attacked the victim by pushing her to the floor and covered her mouth when she tried to scream.
The portal also reported the suspect had a criminal record of drug and burglary.
He allegedly committed the offence under the influence of ecstasy.
The victim's family members then took the victim to lodge a police report at 10.30pm last night without the knowledge of the suspect.
According to news portal, a D7 police unit headed by Inspector Fazirul broke into the suspect’s home at 2 am Sunday before arresting him.
