Sibu has recorded very unhealthy air quality of 212 followed by other areas including Shah Alam, Pelabuhan Klang, Kuala Selangor, Tanjung Malim, Sri Aman and Samarahan as at 4pm.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE), the Air Pollution Index (API) has increased slightly compared to early morning today, with only Sibu has increased from unhealthy to very unhealthy.

As at 3pm, Sibu recorded a recording of 212, Pelabuhan Klang (145), Kuala Selangor (115), Sri Aman (110), Samarahan (106) and Shah Alam (101).

There are 40 other areas that recorded moderate levels of API including Pasir Gudang (51), Muar (59), Tanah Merah (79), Sarikei (69) and Bandaraya Melaka (59).

Only five areas recorded good API levels including Kota Tinggi (31), Larkin Lama (50), Langkawi (29), Sandakan (37) and Tawau (46).

API between 0-50 is good, 51-100 is moderate, 101-200 is unhealthy, 201-300 is very unhealthy and more than 301 is hazardous.
