Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali has urged the Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry (KeTTHA) to clarify the advise of the Attorney-General's office about revealing the water agreement to the public.

According to Azmin, revealing the agreement to the public should be allowed because it did not touch on any issue related to national security.

"What was his advise (Attorney-General), I want to know ... there must be a justification as to why the documents are obstructed (from being revealed).

"Must give clarification because the agreement does not involve security issues..it is only a business contract, why the need to hide," he told reporters after opening a monthly gathering of the Selangor state government departments here, on Monday.

On Saturday, its minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said the contents of the water agreement between the federal government and the Selangor state government could not yet be revealed to the public.

He said the decision was made after the ministry received advise from the Attorney-General on the matter.
