Echoing the party president’s sentiment, PAS’s spiritual advisor Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has also come out in support of embattled Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

He said he was surprised why there were quarters who want Abdul Khalid to be replaced when the MB has shown good records.

“I read the president’s statement and I wholeheartedly support him. I am also wondering what mistakes had Abdul Khalid committed for him to be replaced from his position,” he said in a media statement.

He said questions are raised as to why Abdul Khalid is being replaced now when he had proved his worth in his first term as the MB and was also retained for the second term.

“But suddenly, he is being replaced today,” he said.

Nik Aziz has also called on all Pakatan Rakyat leaders to settle this issue amicably through negotiations.

“I think we need to settle this issue first before discussing on who will be his replacement,” he added.

He then reminded PAS members to abide by party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who had earlier expressed his support for Abdul Khalid to remain as the MB.

“PAS has its own captain, and that is the president. I am confident he had gathered all information before coming out with the statement,” he said.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has nominated its president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the candidate to replace Abdul Khalid.
