The DAP will wait for the letter from the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah before making any statement on the new candidate for the Selangor Menteri Besar.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the party's stand had been announced previously but with the latest development on the Selangor Menteri Besar crisis, he would wait for the letter from the palace before making further plans.

"I have yet to receive the letter...thus I won't make any comment because it's not proper for me to comment without the letter from Tuanku," he told reporters, here today.

Yesterday, Sultan Sharafuddin delayed the acceptance of Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's resignation as the Menteri Besar of Selangor until a new appointment had been determined.

The Ruler also told the leaders of Pakatan Rakyat (Opposition Pact) - PAS, PKR and DAP - to suggest more than two names from each party as the candidate for the Selangor Menteri Besar to make it easier for him to decide on the eligible candidate, and subsequently give his assent on the appointment of the
eligible candidate as the Menteri Besar.

The Pakatan Rakyat earlier suggested only one name, that is, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for consideration as the Selangor Menteri Besar to replace Abdul Khalid.
