Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim expressed appreciation to PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang for supporting him to continue leading the state government until the end of his term.

Abdul Khalid, in a statement Friday, said the support from Abdul Hadi was indeed meaningful in ensuring stable political environment in the state.

He said he and the state's executive councillors would continue ensuring all manifesto and promises made to the people could be implemented and fulfilled through the excellence of his administration in leading the state.

Abdul Hadi on Friday backed Abdul Khalid to remain as Selangor Menteri Besar as he had never betrayed the trust the people placed on him.

He said Abdul Khalid's excellence performance in taking Selangor to greater heights, including defending Selangor in the last general election, could not be denied despite confusion and disputes in the opposition pact.

He said the reason given by certain quarters to change the menteri besar was not strong and that he personally did not agree as Abdul Khalid was not involved in any major problem.

Recently, PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the Opposition Pact Leadership Council had accepted PKR's proposal to replace Abdul Khalid and to nominate PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to fill the post.
