The Royal Malaysian Police have identified several individuals and small groups responsible in provoking the people to bring Sabah and Sarawak out of Malaysia.

Home Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the police will open an investigation paper against the individuals, which also involves politicians and former politicians, should they continue with the act.

According to Ahmad Zahid, the ministry believes that the individuals may be conspiring with a sultanate which no longer exists which had promised certain positions should they succeed.

Thus, strict warning has been given to those involved to stop before stern actions are taken against them.

Ahmad Zahid added, apart from the Sedition Act 1948, action could also be taken under the current existing law and acts against those involved, particularly in terms of treason towards the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“If there are individuals and small groups which continues to raise the matter, action will be taken by the police based on the information gathered.

“We will not only use the Sedition Act 1948. There are other laws and acts which can be used by the Attorney General in prosecuting, especially in the aspect of treason towards the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“I ask for them to stop before they face the consequences,” said Ahmad Zahid.

He said this during a press conference held after the launch of the Lumut Division UMNO meeting on Saturday which is also attended by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

Ahmad Zahid who is also UMNO vice-president stressed that neo-colonialism issues raised by the individuals involved is untrue as Sabah and Sarawak is a part of Malaysia.
