Malaysian pilot, Capt Abd Halim Othman flew his way to second place in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship held at Spielberg in Austria on Sunday.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) retired pilot nicknamed 'Toogoo' crossed the line before a 15,000 crowd in a time of 1 hour 06.900 seconds in the Challenger Cup category.

Petr Kopfstein of the Czech Republic won the race after clocking 1:05.799s while France's Mikael Brageot finished third in 1:08.112s, the organiser, Red Bull said in a statement.

Another Frenchman, Francois Le Vot was in fourth place in a time of 1:08.132s while Daniel Ryfa of Sweden took fifth place in a time of 1:08.180 seconds.

Tom Bennett of Britain had to satisfied in last place after his plane suffered a mechanical problems.
