Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Rafizi Ramli today declared his assets and urged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to do so too.

He said by doing so, Najib can clear his name, often linked with wealth exceeding his salary.

“If it’s true that he inherited assets from the late Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, as per the Prime Minister’s Office’s statement, then he must detail each of those inherited assets as how I have detailed mine,” he added.

“I believe if I, without any government position and power can declare my assets, then it should be moral obligation of every Minister in the Cabinet up to the Prime Minister to do so too,” he added.

In the account, Rafizi had also declared in detail his assets, income, debts and expenses as a member of Parliament.

He said when he was working at Petronas, his salary was about RM25,000 including allowances. He said his annual salary in Petronas was between RM300,000 and RM500,000.

Rafizi was responding to UMNO’s Datuk Seri Syed Ali Alhabshee who said Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers should declare their assets before questioning Najib’s wealth.
