The inspector-general of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the police is in the midst of investigating a report made by an Umno divisional member linked to the debt consolidation issue company, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and its board of directors.

“Since a police report has been lodged, the commercial crimes department will investigate and the case will be discussed with the Attorney-General's Chamber for further action,” he said.

Khalid did not dispute the possibilities that 1MDB board of directors who are allegedly involved in the scandal will be called in for investigation.

He was commenting on the police report made by Umno Batu Kawan deputy chief, Datuk Paduka Khairuddin Abu Hassan at the Dang Wangi police headquarters here, Friday.

In his report, Khairuddin has also urged the police to investigate 1MDB director and cautioned that he will proceed with a report against, the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak if no actions are taken.
