The Home Ministry and the police have dismissed an advisory issued by the Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) of possible attacks by Islamic State (IS) militants in Malaysia.

The police are, however investigating the advisory, as reported by The New Straits Times.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar assured the public that Malaysia was safe and that the advisory had no basis.

The advisory which beared a KLM Security Services letterhead, warned its crew and staff to avoid public areas, public transportation and “not make any comments about Islamic State.”
