Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Rafizi Ramli has been arrested by the police today as he exited the Parliament building this evening.

The matter was confirmed by PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil via WhatsApp message on Tuesday.

Inspector-general of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed that the arrest was made under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

"Confirmed that YB Rafizi Ramli was detained just now outside the Parliament building and will be investigated under Section 8 OSA," he said in a Twitter posting recently.



Yesterday, Bernama reported that the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) has initiated legal action against Rafizi Ramli regarding the allegation made by the PKR secretary-general against LTAT.

Its chairman, Admiral (rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor said : "It is clear that the claims made by Rafizi are slanderous and motivated by malicious intent, with a view to impact the good reputation and credibility of LTAT.
