Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) Political Bureau is set to hold a meeting today to discuss its response to the letter received from the Selangor palace, which reportedly reminded the party that it needed to nominate more than two names, apart from Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, as the possible Selangor MB candidate.

“The meeting will be held at 5.30pm at the PKR headquarters. The invitation was sent to the bureau members of the 2014/2017 session and requires a confirmation of receipt to be present (at the meeting),” said a PKR source to Astro AWANI.

Meanwhile, another PKR leader also confirmed receiving the invitation to attend the meeting.

The PKR leader who wished to remain anonymous, said the meeting was called to discuss the letter from the palace.

On Wednesday, PKR confirmed receiving a letter from the Selangor palace regarding the state's MB issue.

The party's secretary general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail sent out a statement that among others, stated that the palace had reminded the party to come up with more than two names for the MB post and that Wan Azizah’s name was not rejected.

However, party communications director Fahmi Fadzil, later issued another statement retracting the earlier statement sent by Nasution.
