Taman Medan assemblyman Haniza Talha has been called in to provide her statement in connection to the funding of the Permata Negara (Permata) programme.

A notice was received from investigation officer Hasbuhullah Muda for Haniza to provide her statement at the Petaling Jaya police station next Thursday.

"I believe this is in connection to my statement over Permata published on Keadilan Daily," said Haniza when contacted by Astro AWANI today.

Haniza had made a statement in October questioning the Budget 2015 tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak where a total of RM711 million was allocated for Permata, patroned by his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Deputy Finance Minister, Datuk Ahmad Maslan in a statement had explained that not all of the RM711 million allocated for the children’s programme would be given to Permata.

Instead, Ahmad said the allocation would also be distributed for other programmes for children.
