A Malaysian student, who is currently in Gaza said the people in Gaza remain wary of the Israeli militaries despite the 'humanitarian ceasefire' agreement between Hamas and Israel.

“In this five hours there is nothing much that can be done, we don’t even have a place to hide.

“They have targeted the mass public. This has caused fear to the people to even go to the mosque to pray,” said Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Kamaruzaman.

Nadir also said, after Ishak prayers the roads in Gaza are empty. The victims are provided food by the local NGOs while water is gathered from home water tanks.

Israel and Hamas have agreed to a UN request to halt hostilities for five hours on humanitarian grounds on Thursday.

The Israeli army announced it would halt its bombardment of Gaza between 3.00 pm and 8:00 pm Malaysian time.

Israel's campaign, which entered its 10th day, has killed 227 Palestinians so far, with a Gaza-based human rights group saying over 80 percent of them were civilians.

In the same period, militants have fired more than 1,200 rockets at Israel. They claimed their first Israeli life on Tuesday.
