PAS has named PKR President Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and PKR Deputy Presiden Azmin Ali as the new Selangor Mentri Besar to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim who was sacked from his party on 9 August.

Besides that, PAS had also ask for the four Selangor exco from its party to remain in the state government to ensure that their service to the people would not be affected.

"PAS will always remain committed with Pakatan Rakyat in implementing the 'Tahaluf Siyasi' (political consensus)," said a statement read by PAS Deputy President Mohamad Sabu during a press conference on Sunday.

In addition, the party also informed that it will not demand for the Selangor Mentri Besar post as a sign of respect towards the spirit of Pakatan Rakyat (PR).

On 22 July, PKR had named Wan Azizah as the new Selangor Mentri Besar. The decision was backed by DAP.

Before this, several PAS top leaders had stated their support for Abdul Khalid to remain in office as the Mentri Besar, including Abdul Hadi who said that Abdul Khalid had not misused the trust given to him by the people.

PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and the PAS Syura Council also earlier felt that Abdul Khalid should remain in his post.

The press conference was given by Mohamad Sabu, despite its President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang chairing the meeting earlier.

The meeting held around 10:00am was to discuss the issue of the Selangor Mentri Besar, which could solve the crisis that is happening in the state.
