The Dewan Rakyat passed the Malaysian Aviation Bill 2015 at 12.30am Thursday after an extended sitting overnight.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar when winding up debate on the Bill said the commission to be formed would ensure greater transparency in the Malaysian aviation industry,

However, the second reading of three other bills which were in the day's (April 8) meeting agenda were deferred to the next sitting of the Dewan.

The bills were the Capital Markets and Services (Amendment) Bill 2015; Retirement Fund (Amendment) Bill 2015; Anti-trafficking in Persons and Anti-smuggling of Migrants (Amendment) Bill 2015).

The motions to defer the second reading on these bills were tabled by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan and Deputy Home Minister Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

Earlier, the the Security Offences (Special Measures) (Amendment) Bill 2015) was passed by the Dewan.

The Dewan sits again on Thursday.
