National diver, Pandelela Rinong via her Twitter account today pleaded to football fans watching the second-leg final of the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup tonight to keep the volume at a minimum as there were other athletes nearby the area who 'needed to rest'.

Pandelela tweeted: "I know you excited now but please don't make so much noise because we athletes in National Sports Council hostel need to have our rest too."

The tweet was posted at about 4.40pm today and has since received some 'retweets' and 'favourites' from her Twitter followers.

The national football squad, Harimau Malaya will brazen out against Thailand in an epic match to win the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014. In the first leg of the match in Bangkok last Thursday, the ‘Malayan Tigers’ was defeated 0-2 to the ‘White Elephants’. A total of 90,000 tickets were sold out for the match at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. Malaysia won its first AFF Suzuki Cup in 2010 against Myanmar.

The tweet from the national diving star has also received some responses from her fans saying that she should allow local football fans to be passionate about the game and to show their utmost support for the team.

However, about three hours after she tweet about the noise, Pandelela tweeted her clarification, saying her advice was directed to the football fans who were practicing their cheers and banging their drums at the Door B of the NSC hostel around 4.30pm, and not to the fans at the stadium.
