Selangor Menteri Besar (MB) Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim revealed that Pakatan Rakyat has more than one candidate for the state's MB post.

He explained, the names had been submitted soon after the 2008 and 2013 General Election.

This latest development however contradicted the statement made by Pakatan Rakyat earlier.

"What I said was not reported correctly. There was no single candidate as it was agreed with the palace that more than one name had been submitted.

"Pakatan Rakyat had submitted more than one name in 2008 and 2013, as alternative candidates apart from myself in a separate letter.

On Tuesday, Pakatan Rakyat in a statement stated that DAP and Keadilan had only nominated Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the candidate for the MB post.

According to Abdul Khalid, Pakatan Rakyat had submitted the letter of nomination to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

"I have learnt that the letter was delivered today, so I hope the palace will not send me a copy, that's all. It is because i do not want to know any further information,” he said.

Khalid told reporters after chairing a state government meeting in Shah Alam.
