Public Accounts Committee (PAC) may have to come out with a brief report on how far it has proceeded with the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) inquiry before the proceedings were suspended, PAC deputy chairman Dr Tan Seng Giaw said.

"Under public pressure, PAC may have to come out with a brief report of how far it has proceeded with the 1MDB inquiry before the proceedings are suspended for nearly three months," Dr Tan said.

“We may have to let the people know how far we have gone with the inquiry,” he said.

1MDB former CEOs Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi and Mohd Hazem Abdul Rahman together with 1MDB president Arul Kanda Kandasamy were to appear before the 13-member committee this month.

PAC hearing had been scheduled for Aug 4, 5, 6,17 and 18 as well as Sept 8 and 10.
