Malaysian squash queen, Datuk Nicol David's sixth title bid at the ongoing British Open Squash Championships came to an end after the world number seven player suffered a shocking defeat in the semi-finals late Saturday (Sunday in Malaysia).

The 33-year-old Penangite who was seeded sixth, lost 8-11, 11-7, 11-13 and 7-11 to seventh seed, Sarah-Jane Perry of England in the 56-minute encounter at Airco Arena in Hull, England.

For the record, Nicol emerged victorious in the tournament in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014.

The win against Nicol sees Perry set up an all-England affair against her compatriot, Laura Massaro in the final match on Sunday.

Massaro, the fifth seed, booked a place by pulling off a sensational 3-2 (5-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-3 and 11-6) win against the top seed and defending champion, Nour El Sherbini of Egypt in another last four encounter.
