Apple fans rejoiced with the new and improved operating system for Apple smartphones and tablets was launched yesterday.

Boasting a whole new range of features such as interactive notifications, widgets, improved search on Spotlight and even a family sharing option- the iOS8 seems promisable.

However, one day after the launch, many iPhone users faced a few setbacks and voicing their frustration on social media platforms.

Though the new iOS8 is available for every iPad aprt from the first generation, it is also not compatible with iPhones made before the 4s.

The resource-hungry new platform is said to slow down ageing handsets by two times or more, reported the International Business Times.

The portal quoting ArsTechnica said it will slow down the handset noticeably with two times slower launching of stock apps, three seconds longer booting and more.

To top it off, the update requires near 5GB on the iPhone, space that many users just do not have.

Social media has been flooded with complaints from customers that they now have to delete apps, photos, and music to make room for the software upgrade.

Apple users have also found that many of their pictures got deleted once the upgrade was installed, but do not panic!

An Apple Support Communities forum suggests that if you cannot find your photos in your Photostream, turn photostream OFF and the ON again, your pictures will start to appear under my “Recently Added” folder.

Consequently, Apple fans are encouraged to install the new iOS8 upgrade on any iPhone launched after the iPhone 4s and to always back up your device to iCloud and your computer before updating to iOS8.
