Blogger Shahbudin Husin is urging for Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to consider taking the same action against Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who is claimed to be the ‘mastermind’ behind the allegations made by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and Sarawak Report.

“However, it is unsure who will the legal action be taken against? Will it be WSJ? Will it be Sarawak Report which launched its attack against him (Prime Minister) and claimed to be in cooperation with WSJ?” said Shahbudin on his blog, Shahbudin.com today.

“Or will the action be taken against the ‘mastermind’ named Tun Mahathir who is openly accused of playing a role behind this latest attack?” he added.

On Friday, Najib had claimed that the former premier was the individual behind the allegations made including by Sarawak Report.

The unfounded accusations, Najib said was done following his refusal to implement Tun Mahathir’s personal demands as he did not want Malaysia to be ruled by proxy.

“I believe, Tun (Mahathir) is in cooperation with foreigners. This includes the political attack on the Sarawak Report blog which should not be trusted, and is behind these latest allegations.

“Let me be very clear: I have never taken funds for personal gain as alleged by my political opponents – whether from 1MDB, SRC International or other entities, as these companies have confirmed,” said Najid on his Facbook posting on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Shahbudin who is also former Wangsa Maju UMNO youth chief stressed that it is useless if legal action is only taken against WSJ when the ‘mastermind’ is let loose.

He added, accusing Tun Mahathir as being the ‘mastermind’ behind the report by WSJ is a grave and serious accusation.

‘Accusing Tun Mahathir of being the ‘mastermind’ behind the WSJ report which linked him (Najib) to taking money for personal gains, when it is known that it is reported by an international newspaper which is 125-years-old with a total circulation of 2.5 million a day, is a grave and heave accusation against the former premier,” said Shahbudin.

Wall Street Journal and Sarawak Report on Friday had claimed that upon investigation over 1MDB, it was revealed that billions of ringgit had been channelled to several private accounts owned by Najib.
