Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin appealed to all Malaysians to cooperate in searching for Wiliam Yau Zhen Zhong, the six-year-old boy who was reported missing at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, last Wednesday.

He urged anyone with information on the boy's whereabouts to immediately contact the nearest police or Social Welfare Department (JKM).

"I truly sympathise with William Yau's family and hope he's safe and sound.

"The police and JKM have distributed posters nationwide. I appeal to caring Malaysians to help search for him as well," he said at a press conference after a 1Malaysia gathering with leaders at Sekolah Menengah Tun Haji Abdul Malik, Cheng, here today.

William was believed to have left his parents' parked car in search of them after they went to a nearby electrical appliance shop.

The case has been classified as 'missing persons' by the police.
