Muhdalena Ahmad, the woman who was allegedly ran amok with a samurai sword-wielding man outside the Prime Minister's Department's B Complex two years ago, ran away from the Sultanah Aminah Hospital where she had given birth on Thursday.

Muhdalena, 30, who was admitted to the hospital last Sunday, was found missing at 9am.

Johor CID chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan in a statement said the police were in the midst of tracking down the woman, who is a detainee at the Permai Hospital, Tampoi.

In July 2012, Muhdalena and Khalil Afendi Abd Hamid were reported to have run amok outside complex, wielding samurai swords and were shot. Khalil later died from his injuries.

Muhdalena was charged at the Putrajaya Hospital, where she was warded with a gunshot wound in the right thigh, with four charges under the Penal Code, the Corrosive, Explosive and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958, and Protected Areas and Protected Places Act 1959.

She was then ordered to be kept in safe custody at Hospital Permai, Johor, where she will be held pending orders from the Ruler of the State, after the Sessions Court ruled that she was of unsound mind at the time.

Hasnan said public with information about Muhdalena's whereabouts were requested to contact the police at 07-221 2999.
