Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has announced a long-term road closure at Jalan Tun H. S. Lee, from Monday until June 30, 2015.

Its strategic communication and public relations director Amir Mahmood Razak said the closure was to facilitate the construction of a diaphragm wall for the future Pasar Seni Station.

He said during the closure, traffic would be diverted to an alternative route, newly-constructed by MRT Corp's underground works contractor. The route can be accessed via Jalan Panggong.

"In view of the extensive duration of the closure, which is until mid-2015, we have made available this alternative route for the convenience of motorists," he added in a statement here Saturday.

Amir Mahmood said another closure was at Sprint Highway (Petaling Jaya-bound) where the right-most lane would undergo a trial closure for one week, effective Monday (midnight) to Jan 26, 24 hours daily, involving road stretches before the Jalan Batai Barat junction to the Bukit Kiara interchange.

The trial closure is an added 240 metres to the present long-term closure of the right-most lane at Sprint Highway which starts after the Maarof Interchange.

"The trial closure is implemented to allow the relevant authorities to study the traffic flow at the area, and two lanes will be available for motorists at the highway during the trial closure," said Amir Mahmood.
