The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) in a statement, expressed its gratitude to all taxpayers who have completed their Income Tax Return Form (ITRF) for Year Assessment 2013 and made their income tax payment within the stipulated time.

According to IRBM on Friday, the number of ITRF received via e-filing as at May 15, 2014 is 2,614,486 forms.

These numbers showed an increment of 14.13% in ITRF submission compared to the same time last year which is 2,290,788 forms.

An increase in the number of forms submitted via e-filing each year, shows that there wan an increased awareness among taxpayers on the benefits of using e-filing in submitting their ITRF.

The IRBM said, e-filing is not only easy, accurate and safe but it also help taxpayers to expedite their tax assessment process and tax refunds and is accessible any place and at any time.

The IRBM also extended it’s apologise and informed that the e-filing system will be closed for maintenance from 8 am to 8 pm on May 17, 2014.

All related applications namely e-filing will not be accessible during this period.
