Vietnam has reduced the number of flights to look for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

The National Committee for Search and Rescue, which is based in Hanoi, said the search level had now been changed to "active" from "urgent" previously.

"The boat force remains intact but the number of flights has been reduced," said the committee.

It said all the requested and suspected locations had been searched but nothing had been found so far.

The Boeing 777-200ER has been missing since early Saturday and searches have been focused in the South China Sea in areas between Malaysia and Vietnam when the plane went missing and disapeared from radar at around 1.30am last Saturday.

According to reports, multinational seach efforts have now been steppped up in the Andaman Sea after military radar suggested the plane flew towards India's Andaman Islands.
