Speculations about the missing MH370 aircraft in the social media is not easily prevented.

Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, said sometimes such information originates from other countries and are spread by local social media users.

He however said, what is more important is for Malaysians to continue expressing their feelings and grief in various ways.

“We are tired of advising those who retweet the speculations, but in today’s world, we can't prevent everything. We consider that as part of humans’ stupidity,” he said at a press conference on Sunday.

Since the aircraft went missing on March 8, various theories and wild speculations have been put on various websites by Malaysians and foreigners.

The MAS flight was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew.
