A close friend of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah has come to his defense as speculation mounts over what really happened that lead to the disappearance of the Boeing 777 airliner.

He described 53-year-old Zaharie as a “responsible, professional and dedicated pilot” who always puts the safety of his passengers first.

“I have full confidence and trust in him because of his joy and passion in flying. If something had happened on this flight, I believe he would ensure the safety and welfare of everyone else before himself,” he said.


As the mystery mounts over the disappearance of flight MH370 which has been missing since March 8, 2014, authorities have now turned their investigations to crew members and passengers on board the ill-fated flight.

On Saturday police had conducted a search at Zaharie’s home in Shah Alam.

Details on the search would be revealed at a media conference scheduled for Sunday.
