The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) investigating team will leave for Ukraine today to continue investigations at the Malaysia Airlines, flight MH17 crash site following the ceasefire between pro-Russian separatists and the Ukraine government.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said in his Twitter account that the first group of 30 officers and personnel from different units would be led by Internal Security and Public Order deputy director Datuk Muhammad Fuad Abu Zarim.

Another group of 50 officers and personnel will follow suit, said Khalid.

Yesterday, international media reported that the Ukraine army and pro Russian separatists had agreed to a ceasefire following negotiations in Belarus.

"The PDRM wish them a safe and successful assignment," he added.

On July 17, all 298 passengers and crew on board MH17 perished when the aircraft heading to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam, believed to have been shot down, crashed in eastern Ukraine.
