Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah is among eight individuals who will be charged in court on Tuesday over the 'KitaLawan' assembly held in March this year.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief, Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said the other individuals were Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin, Teja state assemblyman Chang Lih Kang apart from former PAS Youth treasurer, Fakhulrazi Mokhtar.

Others included Bersih secretariat member, Mandeep Singh; Jingga 13 chairman Mohd Fariz Abd Talib; Batu MP special officer Rozan Azen Mat Rasep and activist Adam Adli.

"They will be charged over the 'KitaLawan' assembly and not for the Bersih 4 assembly which was held last weekend," he said when contacted by Bernama here Friday.

He said all of them were charged under Section 4(2)(c) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 except Fakhrulrazi who would be charged under Section 4(1)(b) of the Sedition Act 1948.

The 'KitaLawan assembly was organised to give support to opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is now serving a five-year jail sentence after being found guilty of sodomising his personal assistant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
