The police have started their investigation on the leaked Science examination papers for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) in accordance with the provisions under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972, reports The Malaysian Insider.

It is understood the investigation is made following a report filed by the Malaysia Examinations Board director Na'imah Ishak at the Putrajaya police headquarters on Wednesday afternoon.

"Police are investigating the case under Section 8 (1) (E) of OSA. No arrest has been made so far," Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajudin Mohd Isa was quoted by the news portal.

On Wednesday, the Examinations Board announced that the UPSR Science papers 018, 028, 038 would be postponed to Sept 30 due to leakages of its questions on the internet.

The papers were originally slated for Sept 11.

Yesterday, Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had apologised to the pupils and parents over the leak and promised to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, the National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP) advised teachers to not cooperate with parties that leak examination questions.

NUTP president Hashim Adnan said teachers who did so were dishonest is carrying out the duties entrusted upon them.

“We don’t want teachers abetting with criminals. We regard those who leak exam papers as criminals because they are not sincere, dishonest and have no integrity.
