Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has described as apt the stern reminder by the Johor Sultan to outside politicians to not interfere in the state's affairs, confusing the people and creating disunity.

He said Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar made these comments because he was aware that there were outsiders who were taking advantage of the atmosphere in the country with the coming general election.

He said many would spread these issues, not to solve the problems but to confuse the people.

"If there is no general election coming up, these issues would not arise...that is why Tuanku had said this," Khaled said, here, today.

He was commenting on Sultan Ibrahim's reminder on Thursday that outsiders should not teach the state what should be done as the people enjoyed a comfortable and peaceful life.

In his speech at the opening of the Bukit Kepong Emergency Gallery in Bukit Kepong here, the Sultan also urged the people of Johor not to be influenced by the lies of outsiders who try to frighten them with farcical tales. -- BERNAMA
