Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala denied rumours that he would be heading Malaysia Airlines System Bhd (MAS).

On Twitter, Idris said he will stay in his present role as the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) CEO.

Idris was earlier tipped to be brought back to the ailing national carrier which he served as its CEO between 2005 and 2009, before he was appointed a senator and minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.

MAS shares were suspended on August 8, 2014 and its 69% stake holder, sovereign fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd had said it was undertaking a corporate restructuring plan for the company.
