The remains of Arab Malaysian Bank founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi who was shot dead in Lorong Ceylon here yesterday, were buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery here yesterday.

His remains were laid to rest at 10pm after the funeral prayers, which were held at the Federal Territory Mosque in Jalan Duta here following the Isyak prayers.

His widow Chong Mei Kuen and some 30 family members were present to pay their last respects.

Also present was former Rural and Regional Development Minister Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Shamsuddin.

In the incident yesterday, Hussain, 75, was shot dead while Mei Kuen, 49, was injured after being shot from close range, believed to be by hired hitmen, while they were walking to their car after coming out from a Chinese temple in Lorong Ceylon.

Hussain was hit twice in the chest and died at the scene while his wife was injured in the left wrist and right thigh.

Meanwhile, Hussain's former wife Heidi Najadi, 72, who has been living in Malaysia since three years ago, urged the police to "leave no stone unturned in their investigations".

"He does not have any enemies...he is a good person," she said when approached by reporters after the funeral.

Hussain's son, Pascal Najadi, 46, said his late father had a great heart.

"He was my best friend and he was a great friend to all those who were lucky enough to have had their paths in life cross with his," he said.
