Selangor has recorded an 'unhealthy' Air Pollution Index (API) in all of the Department of Environment's monitoring stations today.

As of 8 am this morning, Port Klang recorded a reading of 132, Banting (133), Shah Alam, (126), Petaling Jaya (127) and Kuala Selangor (108).

Two other locations with 'unhealthy' API readings are Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur at 115, and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan at 109.

Perak and Penang recorded a decreased API reading of less than 100, from 'unhealthy' to 'moderate', compared to yesterday.

Other areas which recorded 'moderate' readings are Cheras (83), Putrajaya (87); Port Dickson (68) and Seremban (83) in Negeri Sembilan; Balok Baru, Kuantan (63); Tanah Merah, Kelantan (61); Bandaraya Melaka (79) and Bukit Rambai (76) in Malacca; Alor Setar (59) and Sungai Petani (81) in Kedah; Muar (87) and Pasir Gudang (51) in Johor; Kemaman, Terengganu (52) and Sri Aman, Sarawak (52).

API readings of 5-50 is 'good', 51-100 is 'moderate', 101-200 is 'unhealthy', 201-300 'very unhealthy' and above 300 is 'dangerous'.
