Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainudin will attend the 40th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-CFM) in Conakry, Guinea.

Hamzah, who is leading the Malaysian delegation to the three-day meeting, will deliver a speech on Malaysia's stand on issues facing Muslims today, Wisma Putra said in a statement.

In addition, he will hold bilateral meetings with delegation heads from other countries, and will also lobby for Malaysia to be appointed as a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council for the period 2015-2016.

The OIC-CFM meeting is expected to discuss the current situation of Muslims, challenges facing Islamic countries and issues relating to politics, humanitarian, legal, economic, cultural, social, science and technology and finance.
